Our mission as a non-profit organization is to provide our East Palo Alto- East Menlo Park community with health awareness, affordable housing, educational support, youth enrichment and grant awarding through our community involvement and financial resources. By advocating for health and self-improvement in East Palo Alto and East Menlo Park, CA we are able to continue building a stronger foundation with this community.

Welcome to THE Drew Health Foundation, Inc.
Drew Health Foundation, Inc. was established in 1967 in East Palo Alto, CA.
DHF, Inc is a private, 501 (c) (3), tax-exempt organization. Founded after the closure of the Charles Drew Health Clinic, where medical and dental services were provided. The organization was re-purposed to serve the community in a broader aspect; addressing specific medical disorders, with an emphasis on mental health and it's impact on minorities.
DHF has been a staple in the community for over 30 years , focused on providing:
- Affordable/Section 8 housing for families of the community
- Grants and charitable donations to organizations who service East Palo Alto & East Menlo Park
- Educational Scholarships, in partnership with the Myrtle V. Walker Fund, to students pursuing careers in the health field.
- Awareness in Breast & Prostate Cancer education and resources for medical assistance
- Assistance for Senior Citizens & Youth Enrichment
Drew Health Foundation, Inc. has developed into the organization it is today, due to the direction and involvement of former Executive Director, Myrtle Walker. Myrtle has dedicated years to successfully running the foundation and working in the community; holding several positions, including working with the school district and the City Council.
DHF is supported by a dynamic group of Board of Directors who are pillars in the community. This Board of Directors, in support of the recently appointed Executive Director, CarsJanae Pettiford, will continue to serve the East Palo Alto and East Menlo Park, CA area and continue to build a steady Foundation for our community members and affiliates.
